That is why 70 years ago, Dulcolax pioneered the category with the invention of bisacodyl, to free the world of constipation and we are now present in 69 markets. Bisacodyl was first invented in 1948 in the laboratories of Dr. Karl Thomae and revolutionized constipation relief by developing the first oral laxative that was both effective and well tolerated as it worked directly in the gut.

For decades, we've been committed to developing a range of consumer-based, science-based innovative options to put gut health in consumers hands. Our range of eight products in the US ensure there is a solution for every need - from fast constipation relief to hard dry stools in adults and children.
